Because I’m Your Father

Well, what can I say… it seems that lots of other men are into me. They really, really dig me.

Wait a minute… that didn’t sound quite right. What I meant to say was lots of other DADS apparently like to follow the goings on here at Because I’m Your Father. Not that there’s anything wrong with people of other genders or lifestyles being into me, er, something. Hey, anyone catch that fight before the Atlanta-Philly game last Monday!?!?

Like most ‘daddy bloggers’ I dove into the internet after BIYM and I got ourselves preggo, to essentially scrapbook the life of our boy and our lives as new parents, and so I didn’t have to email megs and megs of photos and movies to 30 different people I didn’t really know, only to be scolded for not sending that one picture of Albert drooling on the dog’s butt to my second cousin’s aunt Marge, on her father’s side, twice removed (but not really blood, because she’s Earl’s second wife).

Along the way, I encountered a whole community of dads – some veterans, some rookies (can you tell its football season?), and a few fathers to be – who shared their thoughts, emotions, and personal experiences about the single greatest occupation on earth. Ok, Motherhood probably trumps us. Anyway, I found all this new age man sharing kind of intriguing and inspiring, so I decided to take a crack at it (by the way, I thought long and hard about that sentence, and how it might tempt some to probe my site, assuming it’s about something else, but I’m firm in my belief that it will taken up in the proper context). I think I do a pretty serviceable job.

Over the last week, a few of the more widely read fathers have been kind enough to include ME in the lists of sites by dads that THEY enjoy reading. On Monday, The Zero Boss (by the way, Jay, you were my first) was nice enough to pimp me in the Dick Edition of his Monday Morning Blogroll. Then on Wednesday, MetroDad (sorry dude, you got sloppy seconds) gave me Props, which was echoed on Thursday by Jay at Blogging Baby and Greg at DaddyTypes.

Some of the other dads they profiled, I’ve known about and read for a while: Childsplay x2, Mr. Big Dubya, Not-For-Profit Dad. I’ve even BIYFriended them. But I was surprised to find that so many of the other dads had my site listed on theirs. And they’re all great! Like Sweet Juniper, The Bean’s Dad, Clare’s Dad, Adventure Dad. I’ve really got to start checking my referral log more. And, how did I miss Pet Cobra? He’s hysterical!

I’m truly humbled, and I thank all of you guys for the link love. I’ll do my best to reciprocate. Cause as we know, more links means more traffic, means MO money, MO money!
