ABOUT
Alan, aka BIYF
Vice Parent, BIYFamily
I’m Alan and you’re not. Well, unless you’re name is Alan too, then you are. Actually, I’m Albert. I just go by Alan. So, really we’re not the same.
Originally from the thriving cultural metropolis that is Fort Smith, Arkansas, I was born unto Albert III, and am the grandson of Albert, Jr., and the great grandson of – you guessed it – Albert. I currently live and work in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been married to my amazing, sexy, patient, understanding, forgiving, loving wife Nicole (BIYM) since November of 1999. We have a Boston Terrier named Peanut (aka The Nut), and a Terrier-mix named Barney (aka The Mutt). On December 2, 2004, we had our first child, Albert, V (aka the most beautiful baby boy in the whole wide world, yes he is).
Contrary to a lot of other dads who blog, I am not of the stay-at-home variety. That said, if Stay-At-Home, Inc. is hiring, and pays a competitive wage, I’m hired. Until then, I continue to work full time as a music artist manager (or as a colleague likes to say, Executive Nanny). In the fall of 2008. I was hired by Sty-At-Home, Inc., and am now king my domain… And I’m the President and CEO of my new event production and management business, ASK4 Entertainment. I’m running a couple of charity events, and have started a rock music cruise called ShipRocked. BIYM is ballet instructor at The School of Nashville Ballet, teaching young women to be amazing, sexy, patient, understanding, forgiving and loving.. and to dance like Angelina Ballerina.
After we got pregnant, I decided to create this site, mainly as a means to share photos and communicate with our families about our lives. It is WAAAAAY easier than sending mass emails with attachments, and having to explain how to keep messages from being blocked by junk-mail filters, and how to download, open and print attached pictures. After Albert was born, I decided to try and make it more of a journal/blog, for him and any/all future children we have, to hold and cuddle, long after we’re dust in cardboard box in a wall at a church (why waste any more space than we have to). I may not be not as funny or elequent as the other dads, and I definitely don’t post as frequently (2006-2009) was pretty much a black blog hole), but it’s mine, and it’s theirs. And that’s all that matters to me.
So, don’t hesitate to contact me (cause I can always use MORE email), or comment on any of my incessant ramblings. Otherwise, I hop you enjoy the site…
